Activation
Activation is how the light of wisdom is brought into the realm: streamed in from the archetypal source at the confluence level and condensed from light already present at the in-realm level, both directed by attention into the matrix of engagement. In dark realms even help can look like attack; in lighter realms the resistance is our reluctance to see who we are not yet.
Activation is how we bring the light of wisdom into the realm. It is the practical mechanism by which transformation actually occurs.
Two Levels of Activation
There are two levels at which activation operates, and both must be active for transformation to proceed:
Confluence Level: Streaming light inward from the archetypal source—reaching for light from "outside" (though it appears this way only from within the realm; the light is not actually external).
In-Realm Level (Line-kat-vi Level): Condensing and concentrating light that is already present within the realm—recycling existing light into new areas.
When Only One Level Is Active
We cannot work without both levels being active. When we orchestrate only one:
Confluence-only: We experience resistance at the confluence level.
In-realm-only: We experience itchiness and restlessness at the line-kat-vi level.
Streaming and Condensing
Streaming is pulling light inwards—from the confluence level, from the archetypal source. This is confluence-level activation.
Condensing is focusing within-realm light. This is in-realm activation. We work with light already present in the realm, concentrating it, intensifying it, directing it to the matrix of engagement.
To activate, we stream light or condense light into the matrix of engagement—where in our realm we are looking to work. We engage our attention to direct the light of activation. Where attention goes, light flows or condenses.
Activation in Darker Realms
At the lesser realm level, confluence light is easier to bring in than recycling existing light. This is because there is so much darkness—it overwhelms. To bring new light in, we must reach for help from outside.
Inside is so dark it's hard to find anything inside. We must look to outside.
The thing that makes this hard is that all the doors are closed. The walls are so thick that light streams only very dimly through, as if we are deep underwater and we have only a glimmer of sunlight filtered down through thick layers of the deep ocean. It doesn't even look like light down there—it's just an eerie glow.
And actually, this dim light can itself be quite frightening. It highlights shadows and glimmers and shapes moving around, and they themselves activate more and more fear. So it is that help is often seen as an attack when we are in these dark realms.
The traditional teachings on the hell realms describe this: Bodhisattvas in the hell and hungry ghost realms are seen as attacking when they hand water or blankets to lost souls. The being is so deep in fear-fabric that even loving-kindness appears as a threat.
Openings occur spontaneously. We must be ready to link them into the realm when they do. Primarily, help from outside the realm must penetrate.
Activation in Lighter Realms
In lighter realms, we can indeed reorient the light towards the area we wish to illuminate. We can choose to wisdomize within our wisdomating.
Because there is already light, we can better see what needs to be done. It's not as overwhelming to encounter an area of contraction. It doesn't destroy the sense of self the way it does in the darker realms.
Lighter realms level up through continued recycling of light within—concentrating existing light into new areas of engagement.
Line-kat-vi Resistance
At the line-kat-vi level—the in-realm level—we encounter a specific form of resistance:
We cannot bear to bring ourselves into the light of who we want to become. And so we diffuse it, ignore it, avoid it, do everything in our power to escape illuminating what is there that we need to burn through.
We refuse to concentrate the existing light into the new areas because it would mean accepting that we are NOT who we say we want to be(come).
Line-kat-vi is that which tells us we don't want it, which keeps us safely in the existing realm, choosing into that realm over and over.
Without shining light into dark places, we feel like we're just being ourselves—no challenge. To bring light into new places is scary because of line-kat-vi—fear is part of the process itself.
The Streaming Light
The light is streaming as confluence whether we see it or not.
If we don't see it: The light becomes wisdom surrounding us, holding us, loving us, lighting our path even though we're not looking at our path. This is grace—the light operates even in our ignorance of it.
If we do see it: We can know it, understand it, use it, be it knowingly in conscious awareness of who we are at the confluence level.
The Threshold: Enlightenment
In order to work at the confluence level, we must become enlightened. This overcomes the inability to see the wisdom light.
But enlightenment at the confluence level is NOT an entity that sees light. It is consciousness itself knowing itself as consciousness—as the light of wisdom playing.
There is no seer and seen. There is just the light knowing itself as light. Wisdomating fully realized—self-illuminating without an illuminator, without something illuminated.
"Becoming enlightened" is not quite right as language—there is no one who becomes anything. There is recognition of what always already is: consciousness knowing itself as consciousness.
