Open Space Awareness
A more open practice, where we drop technique and extend our awareness into space, which helps us then find the space within our close surroundings also.

[0:27] Taking our seats. Gently, dynamically arranging our body. Into a posture that supports us, is uplifted. Awake. Alert. Turning into and toward our world. A sense of the soft, open front. And a strong back.
[1:57] And a chin slightly tucked. Allowing us to breathe clearly.
[2:24] And today we could have our gaze to the horizon. A little higher than normal, perhaps. Looking straight out at our world. Like a warrior. Or like a monarch. Surveying. Not hiding. From anything. Not withdrawing.
[3:51] And allowing our awareness to extend out into space, far. Extending out into the space directly around us and past and through any walls.
[4:45] This sense of dissolving into space. Without physical barriers. And we could, for a time, sort of relax, let go of technique. If we feel too scattered, we could maintain some mindfulness of breath. We're really looking to extend our awareness into space. It's open. Practice. It's just this sort of resting in space. Extending. And perhaps a curiosity in exploring.
[8:03] How far does this space awareness extend? And what does it feel like, this completely open awareness? It's different from mindfulness.
[9:25] We could feel it extending in all directions, including our back, below us and above us.
[10:07] We really sense its stillness, but also its aliveness. Its luminosity. A luminous emptiness.
[12:08] Vast openness and be without a reference point.
[14:30] And then we could bring our awareness back to our body. We could begin to sense our breathing. Feel more of that open space in our sense of body, our sense of self. In our perception of the space around us, physical space. Can we detect, perceive more of this open, groundless space?
